France

France is one of those countries that has so much to offer, no matter what your interests are. The landscapes are breathtaking, and the history and culture are so rich and fascinating. There's just something about France that draws you in - the food, the wine, the art, the architecture - it's all so beautiful and captivating. And Paris, of course, is a city that is unlike no other city, with its stunning landmarks, charming streets, and that unmistakable Parisian flair.

Best time to go to France

While you can visit anytime, the summer months can be quite busy, especially in July and August. This is because of the French school holidays, so you may need to plan accordingly and consider the crowds. The shoulder months of April to June and September onwards can also be busy, particularly with families, so it's best to plan accordingly. If you're interested in skiing, the period from December through to March is ideal for exploring the French Alps.

Greece

Greece is a popular choice for many reasons. It offers a rich history and culture, stunning beaches, and crystal clear waters. Athens, the bustling city with its ancient landmarks, is also a great place to explore with teenagers. Greece is also known for its delicious Mediterranean cuisine and fresh seafood. With over 200 inhabited islands to choose from, it can be overwhelming, but depending on your preferences, there are great options for families like Skiathos, Kefalonia, and Zante, and lively nightlife on Mykonos and Santorini for adults.

Best time to go to Greece

Summer is the busiest time for tourism in many places, and it can get quite hot and uncomfortable. It's not the best time for activities like hiking or visiting archaeological sites. If you plan on island hopping, July and August are good months as there are more consistent ferry schedules and charter boat options available. September and October have their advantages - the sea is still warm, and prices are more affordable. It's also a great time to avoid the crowds and enjoy a more peaceful experience.

Italy has a Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters. The best time to visit for sun-seekers is between June and September, but expect peak crowds and high prices. July is optimal but can be crowded, while August is hot and busy. For skiing in the Dolomites, go between December and February, but book early.

Netherlands

The Netherlands is only a 4-hour journey from the UK on the Eurostar. It's famous for its flat landscape, tulip fields, canals, Dutch windmills, and cycling routes. Amsterdam has many great works of art, the Rijksmuseum, and Anne Frank's house. The city is beautiful and easy to explore by foot, bike, or canal boat. On sunny days, taking a leisurely canal boat ride and enjoying the many restaurants and hotels around the city is recommended. Book tickets in advance for events such as Anne Frank's house.

The best time to visit the country is mid-April when the tulips are in full bloom and the days are longer. June to August is the busiest time of year with crowds flocking to the major attractions.
